FAQs

We’ve collated some frequently asked questions here to help you with your experience. Please contact us if your question is not answered here!

What are check in and out times?

Check in is from 4pm and check out is by 11am.

Where is the site?

We will send out details of the exact location and directions after booking, and a reminder of these shortly before the date of your booking.

Can our friends bring tents or a campervan and camp by us?

We are able to allow additional tents to be pitched by some camps at our discretion. Please contact us about your booking and we can confirm. We do not permit campervans as due to the layout of the site it is not possible to drive to each of the camps.

What is the maximum capacity and bed arrangement for each accommodation?

The Land Yacht sleeps 6 adults across 2 double beds and a double sofa bed.

The Showman’s sleeps 6 adults across 2 double beds, a single bed, and a sofa. There is space for a cot to be added if needed (we do not provide).

Deer Cabin sleeps 2 adults in a double bed and 2 children on a small sofa bed. Adults would not be able to fit on the sofa bed instead of children.

Yurt Lush sleeps up to 4 adults in a double bed and a double sofa bed.

Fire Circle Camp sleeps up to 16 adults across 4 bell tents - 2 x single mattresses and 1 double mattress in each.

Do I need to bring my own bedding and towels?

No, all bedding is provided across all accommodations.

What are the bathroom facilities like?

The Showman’s, The Land Yacht and Deer Cabin have their own toilet and shower.

Yurt Lush has a bathroom with toilet and bath.

Fire Circle Camp has a compost loo, and no shower facilities.

Recycling and rubbish

We are passionate about preserving the natural beauty of our site. We request that you sort your recycling into the bins provided and leave no trace on your departure. Please be mindful of bringing unnecessary packaging and single use plastics.

Is food available on site?

There are no shops or cafes on site, but we can help you pre-order food (e.g. BBQ packs) for delivery. Please see this page for details and contact them / us us in advance of your stay. Otherwise there is a pub within walking distance which also sells some sundries, and additional shops and restaurants can be reached by car in 5 minutes. Please see this page for a list of local shops and restaurants.

Are music speakers allowed?

Yes as long as you are mindful of your neighbours. We ask that you respect the nature of this campsite by turning music off by 11pm or earlier if your neighbour asks you nicely!

Fires and BBQs

Each pitch has its own fire pit and a pile of logs to get you started. You can bring your own firewood or purchase more on site for £10 per 10L tub here.

We do provide logs to sit on around the fire pit but be sure to bring some camping chairs if you like something a little softer under you while you stoke the fire!

There is a grill over each fire pit which can be used to BBQ, or feel free to bring your own BBQ - we do ask that BBQs are raised off the ground please. We also have a communal purpose built BBQ on site which can be used providing guests keep it clean after use so that others may enjoy it.

There is a communal space at the top of the hill which might provide a nice change to sit and enjoy the sunset while taking in the view. There is a fire pit here too which will be stocked with firewood.

Why do we have to pay extra for the hot tub?

Not all guests want to use the hot tubs, for example if they are pregnant or have very young kids, so we don’t think it is fair to include the hot tub price in the accommodation price for everyone. The cost covers a full clean before each guest, filling and heating it. The tubs are all wood-fired so the cost is for the wood and the labour required to prepare the tub over several hours.

Can we change our booking if the weather is bad?

Our site is set up to be open and enjoyable rain or shine so I’m afraid we cannot change your booking in the case of bad weather.

What is your Covid policy?

We offer generous, allocated pitches for all of our accommodation, and no facilities are currently shared outside of the communal area which is cleaned regularly.

Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.

Is there parking on site? How accessible are the pitches?

We want to preserve our site of natural beauty so that you may experience nature at it’s best so we do not drive vehicles around the site. We request that you park in our ample car park and walk your belongings to the camp. We do have several wheelbarrows to assist.

We are on the side of a hill so access to pitches near to the lake are accessed by walking up and down a slope.  If you have any mobility issues then we recommend booking The Showman’s, Deer Cabin or Fire Circle Camp. Please note The Showman’s and Deer Cabin have a few steps to enter still, and Fire Circle Camp the tents are slightly raised on decking.

Please contact us if you have any concerns so that we can ensure you find the right spot to suit your needs.

Can I get there using public transport?

The closest airport is Bristol Airport, only 5 miles away. The closest main train station is Bristol Temple Meads, 8 miles away. Uber operates in and around Bristol, and we can provide you with detailed information about local taxi firms.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs are permitted in all accommodations with prior agreement for an additional £25 cleaning charge, payable here.
